The Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damir Osmonov, made a working visit to the village of Novopokrovka, located in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chui region, on March 22, 2026. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
During the visit, the minister familiarized himself with the stages of the major renovation of the building of the former hospital, where a new regional maternity hospital with 100 beds is planned to open after the completion of the work.
According to Almaz Askarov, the health coordinator for the Chui region, the funds for the major renovation have been allocated from the stabilization fund, and the completion of all work is expected by November of this year.
Currently, the Chui regional maternity hospital is located in premises that were previously used as a kindergarten, which significantly limits the possibilities for providing full-fledged specialized medical care.
The implementation of this project will create modern conditions that meet the requirements for providing medical care to pregnant women and mothers, as well as improve the accessibility and quality of services in the field of maternal and child health in the Chui region.
The minister emphasized the importance of completing the work on time and instructed to monitor the quality of their execution.
