Over the course of two days, 9 people sought medical attention at the Clinical Emergency Hospital in Bishkek for injuries caused by icy conditions. This was reported by the deputy chief physician Ilim Manapov during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio" on January 19.

Of all the injured, 7 received outpatient care, while 2 were hospitalized. Four to five of them sustained injuries while skiing, and two fell on the street.

Manapov noted that during the winter period, especially during the New Year holidays, many people prefer active recreation in the mountains, which leads to injuries. He added that this year, the amount of precipitation is less than in previous years, which, in turn, has affected the number of injured.

According to him, although there were hospital visits during the holidays, their number was insignificant. Most patients were admitted with injuries sustained during active recreation.

The doctor also spoke about the ongoing information campaign, which is yielding results. Previously, more than 500-600 people would seek medical attention during the winter period, but now their number has significantly decreased.
