Since September 12, 2025, the department has begun licensing taxis. Earlier, on December 3, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to extend the licensing period until February 1, 2026.
Despite numerous warnings to drivers about the necessity of obtaining licenses in advance, by December 2025, the number of issued documents remained quite low.
Currently, in all regions of the country, Ministry of Internal Affairs employees are working in an intensified mode to carry out licensing. At this time, more than 8,000 citizens and about 300 legal entities have already received the necessary licenses.
In response to citizens' appeals, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has decided to further extend the licensing period until July 1, 2026.
The issuance of licenses is taking place in each of the divisions of the Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
