According to analysts at Stifel, the price of Bitcoin could drop to $38,000. They compared the current decline in the value of the most popular cryptocurrency to the plot of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." In October 2022, the price of Bitcoin reached a record high of over $126,000, but then fell to $67,000, returning to levels not seen since November 2024.

Analysts emphasize that the bearish trend (bets on decline) of the cryptocurrency fits into a linear trend that points to a possible minimum of $38,000. They provide historical data: in 2011, the token fell by 93%, in 2015 by 84%, in 2018 by 83%, and in 2022 by 76%. The line connecting these minima indicates $38,000 as the limit of the current decline, Stifel explained.

Experts noted that, similar to F. Scott Fitzgerald's work, where Button grows younger against the backdrop of aging surroundings, Bitcoin, with a fixed limit of 21 million BTC, becomes more resilient — in their interpretation, "younger" — amid a weakening dollar due to constant money printing. However, it is currently "aging," like the child version of Button, which looks 10 but behaves like it's 80.

According to Professor Alexander Abramov, who heads the laboratory for the analysis of institutions and financial markets at the Presidential Academy (RANEPA), the price of Bitcoin will continue to decline in the near future. The economist links this drop to the insufficient number of new investors willing to invest money in the face of increasing risks.
