In Kyrgyzstan, 26 auctions for the right to use subsoil plots have been held - MDS

In 2025, 26 auctions related to mineral rights were held in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Askar Sydykov, Executive Director of the International Business Council, during a business breakfast at the "B5+1" forum.

According to the MDS, a total of 2,005 licenses for mineral extraction have been issued so far, of which 103 licenses belong to state companies.

As previously reported, there are over 1,000 deposits and occurrences of mineral resources in Kyrgyzstan, covering 51 types of mineral raw materials, including gold, silver, copper, antimony, tungsten, and rare earth minerals.

In the first nine months of last year, the inflow of foreign direct investment in mineral extraction amounted to $190.3 million, which is 21.5 percent of the total FDI in the country's economy.

The dynamics of investment in the mining sector showed impressive growth, doubling compared to the same indicators for 2024, noted the MDS.

It was also emphasized that the most promising deposits are Kutessai II, Kalesai, Kyzyl-Ompol, Northern Akbash, as well as the bauxite (aluminum) deposits of Zardalek and Katrambashi.
