- Perizat Turdukhozhayeva, the chief specialist of the trade policy and WTO department of the Trade Policy Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, spoke in an interview with the radio about the current efforts to form trade agreements and the key stages necessary for their implementation.

According to her, the work encompasses both bilateral and multilateral agreements within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, aimed at promoting exports.

“There are several existing agreements in the context of the EAEU. For example, we have already signed an agreement with Iran, in which we specify the product positions of interest for export and import - what we want to bring into the country. These agreements also outline preferential rates for the import and export of goods,” she noted.

Turdukhozhayeva emphasized that the process of preparing agreements requires significant time and includes several key stages.

“Initially, an analysis is conducted - what goods can be offered to our partners, as well as what goods we can import on favorable terms. Then, an intention is formed, negotiation stages take place, and lists of goods are discussed. After that, technical work on the draft agreement begins, and the implementation of domestic procedures follows,” she added.

After the agreement is signed, the ratification process follows, which allows it to come into force and start operating.
