In the Nookat District of the Osh Region, a large-scale initiative has begun aimed at restoring the former glory of tobacco farming. The Department of Agricultural Crop Expertise of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan organized a training seminar for local farmers, designed to increase the profitability of their farms.
During the seminar, a presentation was held on promising seed varieties that could significantly change the economic situation in the region. Farmers were introduced to the high-yield variety "Virginia," known for its quality and adaptability, as well as the "Dubeck 44-07" variety, which is ideally suited for risky zones due to its resilience to adverse conditions.
Not limiting themselves to distributing seeds, the department specialists provided participants with step-by-step cultivation technologies. The farmers received detailed instructions on planting and methods to achieve maximum yields. According to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, such events are aimed at replacing outdated methods and implementing modern agronomic practices, which will help farmers in the south of the country compete with product quality on the international stage.
At the end of the seminar, participants received practical advice and answers to questions about the new varieties. The ministry emphasizes that training farmers in the Nookat District is just the beginning of a long-term strategy for developing the agricultural potential of the region and increasing the agronomic literacy of local producers.
