The Ministry of Agriculture urges farmers to choose quality and certified seeds
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of choosing quality and certified seeds for a successful harvest.
According to the ministry's press service, a key factor in obtaining a good harvest is the thorough cleaning of seeds. "Cleaned seeds are free from impurities, weed seeds, and damaged grains. They are characterized by uniform size, sufficient weight, and biological integrity, which contributes to their rapid and even germination. This ensures uniform plant growth in the field and significantly increases yield. Thus, quality seed cleaning is an important condition for a successful harvest," the statement says.
After the seeds arrive at the receiving pit, they are sent to cleaning equipment. At this stage, straw, debris, and large impurities are separated. Then the seeds pass through a drum, where they are cleaned of crushed and half grains. The final stage involves using an air flow to remove underdeveloped, empty, and light grains, resulting in only clean and quality seeds entering the trailer.
Certified seeds serve as a guarantee of high-quality seed material," the ministry notes.
Specialists from the Department of Agricultural Crop and Horticulture Expertise conduct field inspections, during which the varietal and species purity of the seed material, as well as the typicality of plants and other important parameters, are assessed under field conditions. Laboratories use special methods for a comprehensive analysis of seeds, including assessing germination energy, germination rate, purity, moisture content, weight of 1000 seeds, and other indicators.
"If you want to know where to purchase quality and certified seeds, contact the chief specialist of the seed certification department of the Department of Agricultural Crop and Horticulture Expertise, Aiperi Muratbekova, at +996 990 965 006," the ministry added.
The Department of Agricultural Crop and Horticulture Expertise strongly urges farmers to purchase clean, quality, and certified seeds.
