In Bishkek, on January 29, a seminar was held organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic. This event was part of a project aimed at "Assessing and improving the institutional structure in the field of school nutrition."

Participants of the seminar included representatives from various departments, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, as well as staff from the World Food Programme of the United Nations.

The seminar emphasized the integration of school farms into the educational process, as well as their use for practical training in subjects, which contributes to the development of students' skills for an environmentally sustainable lifestyle.

As part of the project, a thorough analysis of the existing regulatory framework concerning school nutrition is being conducted. Sanitary and hygiene standards are being updated to meet modern requirements, and recommendations for proper nutrition for schools are being developed based on current scientific data and traditional products of Kyrgyzstan.

Demonstration plots and school gardens are being created in pilot educational institutions, providing opportunities for students and teachers to apply modern agro-technologies, engage in plant cultivation, and exchange innovative experiences.

Earlier, on January 23, a meeting took place between the Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva and FAO representatives, where the importance of practice-oriented training in educational institutions, including the organization of gardens and school farms, was discussed.

As a result of the seminar, participants highlighted the importance of experience exchange and continued cooperation in the development of school farms.
