From January 21 to 22, a seminar was held at the Ministry of Education dedicated to the implementation of the program "Improving Access and Quality of Inclusive Education Opportunities for All Children in the Kyrgyz Republic."

The event was attended by the Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, her deputies Nadira Jusupbekova and Albert Makmetkulov, as well as the Deputy Representative of UNICEF in Kyrgyzstan Anna Dautovich and representatives from various partner and subordinate organizations.

Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva emphasized the need to shift from a formal approach in education to a results-oriented model, where the interests and safety of children are the top priority. She noted that without quality teacher training, enhanced methodological support, violence prevention, and adherence to ethical standards in the educational environment, it is impossible to ensure the sustainable development of inclusive education.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of creating a system of professional support and protection for educators.

The discussion focused on two main areas: the creation of inclusive educational materials and the training of teaching staff. It is expected that around 500,000 children from preschool and general education institutions will gain access to quality educational materials.

Additionally, it was reported that more than 11,000 teachers will be able to undergo further training to implement a competency-based approach in the educational process. The seminar also discussed measures for the development of inclusive education and the creation of a national policy document in this area.
