In Kyrgyzstan, they want to integrate "green skills" into the education system

The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting where Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva discussed the current results of cooperation and future plans with representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The discussion focused on the outcomes of collaboration for 2025 and priority areas for 2026, with an emphasis on integrating "green skills" into the educational programs of kindergartens, schools, and institutions of initial vocational training.

The minister noted the importance of using both practical and scientific methods in teaching to help children understand the value and usefulness of the products they can grow themselves.

Among the proposed initiatives were the creation of new school and preschool institutions, organizing tree planting, short-term training courses, as well as developing career guidance in the context of transitioning to a 12-year education system and conducting environmental campaigns.

Oleg Guchgeldiev presented FAO projects aimed at developing school gardens, greenhouses, updating teaching approaches in colleges, as well as implementing materials for food resource conservation.

The parties decided to continue cooperation and organize the next meeting in the near future.
