As part of the Eurasia Week 2026, organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), events were held that gathered representatives from Eurasian countries and OECD members in Paris.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Minister Mederbek Tumanov participated in plenary sessions where issues related to the development of critically important mineral resources for sustainable growth, the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, and strengthening economic interconnectedness in the region were discussed.

During his speeches, Tumanov emphasized Kyrgyzstan's key initiatives in the areas of sustainable and green development, responsible business conduct, digitalization of trade procedures, and integration into global and regional value chains.

Additionally, during the Eurasia Week, the Deputy Minister held bilateral negotiations with representatives of the OECD's Public Governance Department and the head of the Eurasia Division, William Thompson. They discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OECD, including the implementation of joint projects in green development and the exchange of expert support, as well as aligning national reforms with OECD recommendations and best practices.

Questions regarding the application of OECD standards in public governance, the implementation of digital solutions, and the prospects for using artificial intelligence in this area were also raised. As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to prepare for the signing of a cooperation agreement and to organize a workshop in Bishkek for the exchange of experiences and improving interaction between Kyrgyz government agencies and the OECD.

Participation in the OECD Eurasia Week 2026 provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with partners, present the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's socio-economic development, and identify areas for further interaction with the OECD.
