On February 11, during a meeting of the Bishkek City Council (BGC), it was announced that rental prices at Bishkek markets would be increased.
The chief engineer of the municipal enterprise "City Road and Transport Infrastructure," Ulan Kurmanbekov, noted that the rates have been increased by 20%. This decision was made to further develop trading areas.
The official provided specific examples: at the "Dordoy" market, the rental price has increased by 40%, while at the "Alkan bazaars" it has risen by 20%. He added that the rental costs at municipal markets were agreed upon during negotiations with entrepreneurs.
