The situation with employees on unpaid leave remains unclear

According to reports from local residents on social media, the dismantling of equipment has begun at the Mailuu-Suu electric lamp factory. The equipment being removed has raised concerns among Kyrgyz citizens, who are questioning the future of the enterprise after these works are completed.

For reference, the factory was established in 1964 and currently produces a variety of glass packaging, including bottles, jars, and LED lamps.

Information about the factory's closure and the transition of employees to unpaid leave was announced at a meeting with the deputy representative of the president in the Jalal-Abad region. In early January, a meeting took place between Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev and the management and staff of the factory, during which he mentioned the preparation of a government decree regarding the payment of wage arrears and the search for potential investors. All employees were sent on unpaid leave, and those who choose to resign will be able to receive payments in accordance with the Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Torobaev also noted that a working group has been established with the task of restoring the factory's operations. Currently, the possibility of diversifying production and opening new directions is being analyzed.
