The authorities of Kyrgyzstan reported what rose in price the most in January

At the beginning of 2025, there was a 0.8% increase in consumer prices and tariffs in Kyrgyzstan compared to December. This was reported at a press conference in Bishkek by Nazira Kerimalieva, the first deputy chairperson of the National Statistics Committee.

According to her, in January, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1%, while alcoholic products and tobacco became 0.8% more expensive. Non-food goods showed an increase of 0.5%, and tariffs for services for the population grew by 0.7%.

The most significant price increase was observed in fresh vegetables, which became 4.9% more expensive. Potatoes rose by 3.4%, sausages and canned meat products by 2.5%, and dairy products, eggs, and cheese by 2.1%, with bulk milk increasing by 2.6%. Mutton increased in price by 1.5%, beef by 0.9%, and fish by 0.5%.

Price and tariff increases were recorded in all regions of the country. The highest growth was 1.3% in the Batken region due to a 2.6% increase in service tariffs. Bishkek saw the most significant rise in the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages, at 1.4%, while in the Jalal-Abad region, prices for non-food goods increased by 1.2%.
