This figure increased by 16.8% compared to 2024, with the main source of growth being transfers from Russia, which rose by 16.1%.
The significant increase in the volume of remittances in dollar terms was also linked to the strengthening of the ruble against the dollar, which increased by 24% over the year by the end of 2025. During this period, the ruble exchange rate reached its highest level since mid-2022.
Economic Consequences
The som exchange rate against the US dollar remained stable, with a slight depreciation of only 0.5% over the past year.
The growth in remittance volumes had a positive impact on domestic demand, which, in turn, led to a 17.8% increase in the volume of domestic trade in Kyrgyzstan by the end of the year.
