The financial oversight authority has proposed to implement a requirement for insurance companies to join an insurance pool as part of mandatory housing insurance. This initiative is reflected in a draft law submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration by the Jogorku Kenesh at the end of January.

It is also planned to amend the definition of the term "insurance pool." In the current version, this pool does not have the status of a legal entity, whereas in the new proposal from the financial oversight authority, the creation of the pool as a legal entity is suggested.

The funding of the pool will be carried out through a portion of the insurance premiums received from insurance organizations, which will ensure the fulfillment of obligations under mandatory housing insurance contracts.
