- At the meeting of the committee on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection of the Jogorku Kenesh, held on February 23, deputy Alisher Kozyuev expressed the opinion that the pasture committees have turned into "monsters" that do not answer to anyone.

“They received financial support, but at the same time did not feel any responsibility,” he noted.

Kozyuev supports the Ministry of Agriculture's intention to carry out a reform that will make these committees accountable to local akims.

Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev inquired about the share of agriculture in the country's gross domestic product.

The question was answered by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev, who stated that agriculture accounts for 13% of the country's total GDP.

On that day, information was also discussed regarding the draft Agreement concerning the financing of the "Livestock Development and Market-3" project between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
