In 2026, Kyrgyzstan will focus its efforts within the Eurasian Economic Union on two main areas: supporting agro-industrial cooperation and developing the southern transport corridor between Osh and Bandar Abbas. This was announced on the radio by the president of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, as well as a member of the Presidium of the Business Council of the EAEU, Danil Ibraev.

Ibraev noted that the first step will be to create cooperation in the agro-industrial sector, which will allow agricultural producers to receive financial support for joint ventures.

The second important direction, according to him, will be the development of logistics. "We aim to make the Osh — Bandar Abbas corridor part of the Eurasian Economic Union," he added.

In addition, it is planned to create a professional development center for skilled trades in Kyrgyzstan. "We are focused on enabling people who choose a career in construction or other fields, both within the country and abroad, to undergo training, acquire the necessary skills, and integrate legally into the economy," emphasized Ibraev.

He also spoke about the completion of work on a trade agreement between the EAEU and India, the signing of which is expected in the near future.

Note:

The idea of the Bandar Abbas — Osh transport corridor was proposed in 2021 to improve trade and logistics ties between Kyrgyzstan and Iran. The route passes through Iran, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, providing Kyrgyz businesses with direct access to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas and international maritime transport. The port of Bandar Abbas is the largest in Iran, handling about 90% of the country's container cargo, with a total cargo turnover of approximately 25 million tons per year.
