On March 10, at a meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov shared information about the upcoming agricultural census in the republic.

He noted that some citizens might misinterpret the purpose of the census and, fearing possible consequences such as denial of social benefits or taxes, may conceal data about the number of livestock and the state of their farms.

“This census poses no threats and will not affect social payments. There is also no need to worry about potential tax obligations,” the minister reassured.

According to Akunbekov, the agricultural census is extremely important for determining the actual number of livestock in the country. The data obtained is necessary for timely vaccination, proper planning of veterinary activities, and ensuring an adequate supply of vaccines.

In this regard, Erlis Akunbekov urged citizens to provide accurate information about the number of livestock, the state of their farms, and the sizes of their land plots.

The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan will take place from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical divisions will participate in its organization.

As part of the census, sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as the number of livestock and poultry will be accounted for.
