At a recent coordination meeting dedicated to the preparation for the agricultural census, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Erlis Akunbekov, urged farmers to openly report their livestock numbers.

He noted that some citizens misunderstand the true purpose of the census and may underreport their data on livestock and poultry, believing that this could lead to denial of social benefits or taxation.

Akunbekov emphasized that accurate data on livestock numbers is crucial for effective vaccination, planning veterinary measures, and ensuring the necessary volume of vaccines.

In this regard, the minister strongly urged citizens to provide honest information about the number of livestock, the condition of their farms, and the area of their land plots during the census.

He also pointed out that the agricultural census is key to proper planning of the national economy and the formation of effective agricultural policy.

The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical services will participate in its organization.

During the census, the sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as the number of livestock and poultry will be taken into account.
