According to the information from the agency, the gross output of crop production decreased compared to the previous year. Cereals, excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat, were harvested from an area of 605.9 thousand hectares. The total volume of grain harvested amounted to 1.8 million tons (in processed terms), which is 14.2% lower than in 2024.
A decrease in production is also observed in other categories:
- Cotton - a decrease of 49%;
- Tobacco - a decrease of 44%;
- Sugar beet - a decrease of 43%;
- Oilseeds - a decrease of 11.7%;
- Legumes - a decrease of 3.6%;
- Potatoes - a decrease of 1.7%.
The reduction in yield of cereal crops amounted to 15.3%, which was the reason for the negative dynamics in grain harvest. The situation with sugar beet is similar: in 2024, its average yield was 710 centners per hectare, while in 2025 it decreased to 401.9 centners per hectare. A decrease in tobacco yield from 32.2 to 26.8 centners per hectare is also observed.
However, in some sectors, growth is noted due to improved land productivity:
- Rice: gross harvest increased by 17%, and yield rose from 39 to 42.2 centners per hectare.
- Fruits and berries: production growth amounted to 17.5%.
- Vegetables: growth rate was 11.3%.
- Corn for grain: production increased by 5.1%, and average yield rose from 72.2 to 74.5 centners per hectare.
