By 2027, it is planned to increase the minimum authorized capital of pawnshops to 20 million soms. This was announced by Suyorkul Ashimjan uulu, the chief specialist of the forecasting, control, and monitoring department of the financial market regulation and supervision service, during a live broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol" by the Kabar agency.

According to him, the capital increase will occur in stages. At the last stage, which was completed in 2022, the authorized capital was 1 million soms. From January 1, 2025, it is expected to grow to 3 million soms.

“Furthermore, starting from July 1, 2026, the minimum authorized capital is expected to be at least 7 million soms. It will then be increased to 14 million, and finally, in 2027, it will reach 20 million soms. We are currently developing the relevant project,” he added.

Ashimjan uulu also noted that pawnshops are only allowed to accept movable property from citizens. According to current legislation, accepting real estate as collateral, such as apartments or land plots, is prohibited.

“Pawnshops can only operate with movable property, including cars, mobile phones, and gold items, providing short-term loans,” he emphasized.
