Bekeshev: citizens spend up to 100 soms to reach government agencies

Deputy proposed that the Ministry of Economy require government services to use mobile messengers

At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with constitutional legislation and local self-government, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed concern about the low quality of state and municipal services, which, in his opinion, is related to insufficient communication with the population.

During a discussion with Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seyitov, the deputy noted that citizens often complain about difficulties in reaching various services, such as elevators, electrical networks, and water supply companies.

According to him, many government agencies continue to use landline phones from "Kyrgyztelecom," where the cost of a call is about 5 soms per minute. At the same time, subscribers are forced to wait a long time to connect with an operator.

“Every time, the answering machine says: 'please wait,' but this 'minute' sometimes stretches to 20 minutes. As a result, people spend up to 100 soms just to get through,” said the deputy.

Bekeshev also noted that the Ministry of Economy and Commerce should take responsibility for the quality of services and take necessary measures. He called for instructions to be sent to all state and municipal institutions to start using mobile phones and popular messengers such as WhatsApp and Telegram.

The deputy added that "Kyrgyztelecom" refused to make calls free, citing financial reasons. He emphasized that the costs should not fall on the shoulders of citizens.

“People should not have to pay 100 soms for the opportunity to reach the call center of a government agency,” Bekeshev concluded.
