- On January 22, 2026, at the Russian-Kazakh section of the border, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Omsk Region detained a truck that was heading to Tatarstan. During the inspection, 20 tons of butter from the Kazakh company LLP "Maslo-Del" were discovered, as reported by Rosselkhoznadzor.

During the document check, discrepancies were found between the stated data and the actual labeling. The veterinary certificate of the Customs Union indicated a production date of August 7, 2025, while the packaging of the butter revealed a factory date of August 23, 2025, under the paper labels.

This difference in dates raises doubts about the ability to trace the origin of the product, which, in turn, leads to the risk of circulating potentially unsafe products due to the lack of confirmation of the epizootic well-being of the territory from which the raw materials were sourced.

The import of this batch of goods into the territory of Russia was prohibited, and the cargo was returned to Kazakhstan. The driver of the vehicle faced administrative responsibility for this violation.

Since the beginning of the current year, 10 cases of violations have been identified at the Omsk region border, resulting in the detention of over 35 tons of animal products and raw materials. More than 25 tons of these have been returned to the senders in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, while about 10 tons were allowed for import into the territory of Russia.
