Why is meat export banned in Kyrgyzstan for everyone except one company?

During a meeting of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy, Deputy Alisher Kozyuev raised an important question about the possibility of exporting meat outside the country, to which he received an ambiguous response from representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Deputy Minister Zhanibek Kerimaliev confirmed the existence of a strict moratorium on meat exports in Kyrgyzstan. However, during the discussion, it became clear that this restriction does not apply to all market participants.

In response to a question about the company "Agroholding," the deputy minister stated that this organization continues to supply its products abroad. The exclusive right to export for "Agroholding" was established in a special decree. The main volumes of supplies are directed to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and they most often pass through the southern regions of the country in transit mode.

Thus, while for most participants in the meat market export remains banned, certain companies have the opportunity to trade legally with neighboring states.
