He noted that the previous campaign brought 1 billion 800 million soms into the state budget, but some citizens did not manage to complete the legalization process.
“Some people didn’t have enough time. I made a list and submitted it to the Ministry of Economy, but I was refused, even before the verification could take place. Why not give people another chance to legalize their vehicles?” — the deputy questioned.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, responded that the Cabinet has already determined its position and that a repeat implementation of the program is not feasible.
“Sufficient time was previously allocated for the legalization of vehicles. Special windows were opened in the GRS for this purpose. Nevertheless, some citizens showed irresponsibility and did not complete the legalization. At this moment, we cannot restart this program,” — he emphasized.
Amangeldiev added that a repeat campaign could provoke discontent from Kyrgyzstan's partner countries within the EAEU.
“Serious questions have arisen within the EAEU regarding the legalization program itself. We will not be able to explain to our partners why we want to re-implement this campaign. They may think that we are involved in smuggling and not contributing to the common budget,” — he noted.
