
In January 2026, the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 125.7 billion soms, which is 9% more than in January 2025, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
The growth in the industrial sector, compared to January 2025, was driven by an increase in production in the following categories: wooden and paper products, printing products (increased by 1.8 times), rubber and plastic products, as well as construction materials (increased by 1.7 times), chemical products (by 38.9%), vehicles (by 36.1%), refined petroleum products (by 21.1%), food products and beverages, including tobacco products (by 13.6%), pharmaceutical products (by 8.9%), basic metals (by 6.0%), and the mining sector (by 37.7%).
The construction sector also showed positive results with a 25.7% increase in volumes, while wholesale and retail trade increased by 21.1%, and agriculture by 3.5%.
Compared to December 2025, in January 2026, consumer prices and tariffs in the country rose by 0.8%. Notably, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.0%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products by 0.8%, non-food products by 0.5%, and tariffs for services to the population by 0.7%.
In comparison with December 2025, price and tariff increases were observed in all regions of Kyrgyzstan. The highest price increase (by 1.3%) occurred in the Batken region, which is associated with an increase in tariffs for services to the population (by 2.6%). Bishkek recorded the highest increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as for alcoholic goods and tobacco products (by 1.4%), while the Jalal-Abad region saw a price increase for non-food products (by 1.2%).
The volume of external and mutual trade of Kyrgyzstan in 2025 amounted to 15.8 billion US dollars, which is 10.2% less compared to 2024. Exports fell by 44.5%, while imports increased by 3.9%.
Mutual trade with the EAEU countries in 2025 reached 5.9 billion US dollars, which is 7.7% more than in 2024. The largest share of mutual trade was with Russia (64.9%) and Kazakhstan (31.5%).
