The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC, Arzybek Kozhoshev, spoke at the UN EEC conference, discussing important initiatives for the digitalization of the transport sector within the EAEU.

“Modern innovations influence not only the speed of cargo and passenger transportation but also the sustainable development of the economy as a whole. Supporting innovative solutions in the field of transport is becoming a strategic necessity,” emphasized Kozhoshev.

During the panel session, the minister reported on the following achievements within the EAEU:

Development of a concept for improving the interaction of intelligent transport systems,
Creation of a concept for the development of electronic document circulation at maritime border points of the Union countries.

Currently, a pilot project for cross-border electronic exchange of the e-CMR consignment note, which is used in international road transport, is also being actively implemented.

“Considering the differences in national legal systems, we focused on creating information interaction between the national segments of the countries on key electronic transport services, as well as on harmonizing digital tools for managing transportation and conducting pilot projects,” added the EEC minister.

Kozhoshev also noted that some member states of the Union are facing difficulties in complying with the European Agreement regulating the work of crews of vehicles engaged in international road transport (AETR).
