On March 3rd, on the A310 highway in the Chelyabinsk region, employees of the Ural Interregional Office of Rosselkhoznadzor, in cooperation with customs authorities, prevented the import of two large batches of seedlings. The incident occurred near the MAPP "Bugristoe".

The trucks were coming from Kyrgyzstan. One was transporting 72,100 seedlings (cherry, pear, plum, thuja, sweet cherry, roses, and strawberry rootstocks) to the Nizhny Novgorod region with unloading planned in Kirov. The second was carrying 160,000 seedlings of pear, apple, mulberry, sweet cherry, roses, and gladiolus bulbs to the Mari El Republic (unloading was planned in Moscow).

During the document inspection, inspectors found violations: the labeling of some plants did not meet the requirements — it lacked information about the place and plot of origin of the products.

This contradicts the legislation of the EAEU in the field of plant quarantine. Importing such seedlings into the territory of Russia is prohibited — under the guise of healthy plants, dangerous diseases or pests can be introduced.

Rosselkhoznadzor officials drew up reports and orders for their return. Under the supervision of the agency, both trucks were sent back.

The record of Rosselkhoznadzor's seizure of over 230,000 seedlings from Kyrgyzstan first appeared on K-News.
