- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 21, 2026, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev proposed to postpone the mandatory licensing of taxis by six months.

He reminded that according to previously adopted regulations, all taxis were to transition to a licensing regime starting February 1, 2026.

“You will not be able to prepare everything necessary by February 1,” Bekeshev stated, emphasizing the need to halt the requirements for providing various certificates.

In his opinion, under the current conditions, licensing and the multitude of certificates would create additional barriers for thousands of taxi drivers. This, according to the deputy, could lead to an increase in unemployment, especially among those who earn a living in passenger transportation.

Bekeshev suggested simplifying the licensing process and officially postponing the implementation of the new requirements to avoid social tension.
