On January 21, 2026, employees of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR), together with representatives of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (SVR MVD KR), caught the district inspector of GOM-3 of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Osh, U.O.Sh., red-handed while accepting a bribe.
According to preliminary data, the detained individual used his official position to exert pressure and intimidate foreign citizens working in the city of Osh. Aware that they lacked the necessary permits, he systematically extorted money from them under the threat of fines and deportation, receiving monthly amounts ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms.
Currently, U.O.Sh. is placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB KR.
Currently, the GKNB KR continues to investigate to identify other possible accomplices and additional facts of illegal activity.
