The investigation has established that police lieutenant U.O.Sh. used his official position to exert pressure on migrants working in the city without the necessary documents. He threatened them with fines and possible deportation, demanding monthly payments ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms for so-called "protection".
On January 21, 2026, he was caught red-handed while receiving another sum of money.
Necessary investigative actions are being conducted regarding the detainee. According to articles 96 and 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the suspect has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
The special services report that the investigation is ongoing. Operational measures are aimed at identifying possible accomplices and additional facts of illegal activity.
