In Bishkek, a police officer and his accomplice were detained on suspicion of extorting a large sum of money from a man in connection with a case of alleged rape. This was reported by the State National Security Committee (GKNB) of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the information, on January 17, 2026, GKNB employees, together with the Internal Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, detained citizen T.A. and police lieutenant A.Э.B., who works in the Oktyabrsky district. They were caught red-handed while receiving 350,000 soms from citizen Ch.M., who became the complainant in the extortion case (under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic).
The materials of the criminal case indicate that the extortion occurred under the threat of accusing Ch.M. of raping T.A. As a result, T.A., in collusion with A.Э., demanded the specified amount in exchange for a promise of a favorable decision in the case.
By the decision of the Lenin District Court of Bishkek, both detainees were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic.
