KOICA will allocate $10 million for a clean air project in Kyrgyzstan

On February 2, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, attended by Minister Meder Mashiev and representatives of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

During this event, details of the program aimed at improving air quality in Kyrgyzstan were discussed. The project, planned for 2026-2028, will cover the capital Bishkek and the Chui region.

The program will be supported by a grant from the government of South Korea of up to $10 million and will focus on reducing emissions of harmful substances, developing a comprehensive air quality management plan, and implementing environmentally friendly heating systems in public educational institutions.
