A seminar dedicated to the validation of the Seventh National Report on the conservation of biological diversity was held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This document demonstrates how the country fulfills its international commitments in the field of environmental protection.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, this report serves as a key tool for assessing Kyrgyzstan's progress within the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

In 2026, this report will be presented at the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, contributing to the global review of progress.

Important issues discussed at the seminar included:

- achievements in ecosystem conservation and the expansion of the protected natural areas network;

- restoration of forest areas and sustainable management of natural resources;

- measures for species diversity conservation, particularly the restoration of the snow leopard population;

- threats to biodiversity related to climate change;

- integration of biodiversity issues into state policy and educational programs;

- financing mechanisms and institutional approaches to implementing national priorities.
