Scientists found evidence of natural RNA synthesis on Earth 4.3 billion years ago
According to results published in the journal PNAS, scientists described a six-stage process during which RNA could be synthesized from simple organic substances without external intervention. Mineral compounds of boron, known as borates, played an important role in this process, as the findings suggest. They facilitated the correct direction of chemical reactions and prevented the formation of unproductive molecular structures, while also accelerating various stages of synthesis. According to
