The Ministry of Education responded to the incident at the Talyk Akun School located in the village of Chyrak in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region.

A video appeared on social media showing a physical education teacher striking students with his fists.

“This case is considered as violence against children and demonstrates a serious violation of professional ethics on the part of the educator,” the Ministry of Education noted.

In accordance with the ministry's order dated January 19, 2026, measures are being implemented across the country to prevent such incidents. In this regard, the ministry urges not to draw generalized conclusions about the situation based on a single case.

“In addition, explanatory work is being carried out with participants in the educational process — teachers, students, and parents. The Republican Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Educational Workers has been instructed to enhance explanatory work in the field of professional ethics for teachers in Kyrgyzstan,” the ministry representatives added.

Earlier, the police reported that on January 28, at approximately 11:00, at the Chyrak school, physical education teacher J.K., born in 1996, called four 8th-grade students to the board and “for the purpose of education” struck them with his hand.

A forensic examination was appointed to determine the presence of bodily injuries. However, after a conversation, the parents of the students stated that they had no claims and refused to undergo the examination.

As a result of the investigation, no criminal case was initiated. The teacher was held accountable under Article 56 (“Beatings”) of the Code of Offenses.
