The air quality improvement project was discussed with the World Bank at the Bishkek City Hall.

A meeting took place at the Bishkek City Hall between Aibek Junushaliev, the mayor of the capital, and Gayana Minasyan, the World Bank practice manager responsible for environmental issues in Europe and Central Asia.

According to the press service of the city hall, the meeting discussed key initiatives of the "Air Quality Improvement" project. Among them are the concept of a "Green Belt," as well as pilot projects for the implementation of heat pumps in the residential sector and other environmental initiatives.

In addition, the city hall presented information on current projects, including the creation and operation of a plant with eco-technologies, modernization of municipal enterprises "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant," "Bishkek Heating Network," and "Bishkek Heat Energy," as well as the cleaning of the riverbeds of Alamedin and Ala-Archa and the work of the municipal inspection.

"I hope that our cooperation will contribute not only to the practical improvement of air quality but also to the formation of Bishkek's image as a city with green and environmentally sustainable initiatives," the mayor noted.

The city hall also added that 50,000 seedlings for greening have arrived in the capital.
