In the Chuy region, there is an increase in the number of foxes getting closer to human homes.

One local resident described his experience: “On a winter morning, a light-red fox appeared from the reeds, carefully looking around and listening. When it noticed me, it slowly hid behind a bush but did not run away.”

Foxes are increasingly appearing near homes, ignoring barking dogs, the noise of cars, and conversations of people, noted an observer from the Sokuluk district.

Ecologist Alexander Sosnovsky explained the reasons for this animal behavior. According to him, “foxes are not picky about their diet. They eat everything they can find — from frogs to lizards, as well as birds and their eggs. However, in winter, prey becomes scarce, and hungry foxes start searching for food, waste, and carrion near human dwellings, losing their caution.”
