Ecologist Alexander Sosnovsky noted that ibexes are becoming an important element of the high-altitude ecosystem.
“In winter, ibexes form large groups, numbering from 100 to 150 individuals. Unlike other animals, their winter coat is darker than the summer one. In winter, their fur is gray-brown with a dark stripe along the back, their legs are darker, and their belly has a grayish tint. The summer coat, on the other hand, lightens due to the wear of the outer hairs. During the cold season, herds of ibexes can often be seen on the slopes of the gorges leading to the Kara-Balta River,” Sosnovsky shared his observations.
