Is there enough coal at the Bishkek CHPP?

The city hall shared information about the operation of the heat and power plant

According to the city hall, the Bishkek CHPP has the necessary amount of coal to ensure "stable operation" in the upcoming heating season.

The average capacity of the station is 455 MW, while the daily heat energy output reaches 9,285 thousand Gcal, and the electricity generation is 10,925 million kWh. The fuel consumption amounts to 7,831 thousand tons of coal and 368 thousand nm3 daily.

The heat and power plant operates 15 boiler units and 7 turbine units with cross connections, as well as two power blocks — No. 3 and No. 4. Currently, 9 boiler units, 4 turbine units, and both power blocks are in operation.

In preparation for the heating season of 2025/2026, the supply of 1.4 million tons of coal is planned to reliably ensure the provision of electrical and thermal energy. The fuel supply schedule will be formed until the end of the heating season.

As of February 2, the coal stock at the CHPP warehouse amounted to 204,537 thousand tons, which guarantees stable and uninterrupted operation of the station.
