In the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, a discussion was held on an initiative aimed at improving air quality. This project, which will be implemented from 2026 to 2028 in Bishkek and the Chui region, will receive grant financial support from the government of the Republic of Korea amounting to up to $10 million, as reported by the ministry's press service.
The meeting was attended by Minister Meder Mashiev, Deputy Minister Asel Raimkulova, and representatives of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The main goals of the project are to reduce the level of pollutant emissions, create a comprehensive air quality management plan, and implement environmentally safe heating systems in public educational institutions.
It is expected that the successful implementation of this initiative will improve the environmental situation in the capital and the Chui region, as well as enhance the effectiveness of environmental protection measures.
