This measure is part of the new Code of Offenses, which has added Article 37 (note 1).
Those subject to retesting are those caught committing the following violations:
- driving a vehicle without license plates;
- ignoring the requirement to stop the vehicle;
- exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 kilometers per hour;
- failing to yield to vehicles with activated special signals;
- crossing into oncoming traffic while overtaking or maneuvering;
- damaging road infrastructure or other property due to traffic violations;
- violating traffic rules that result in harm to people's health;
- allowing a person in a state of alcohol intoxication or without a driver's license to drive the vehicle.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that this tightening of regulations is aimed at increasing discipline on the roads and preventing repeat offenses.
