Kyrgyzstan and France Strengthen Partnership in the Field of Ecology and Technical Supervision

On February 6, a meeting took place in Bishkek between the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, Almaz Musaev, and the Ambassador of France to the Republic, Nicolas Fay.

During the meeting, representatives of the French side expressed their desire to support Kyrgyzstan's participation in COP21, scheduled for 2026 in Yerevan, including organizing additional events dedicated to biodiversity issues.

The topics of discussion also included cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation, protected natural areas, and the protection of rare species of plants and animals.

Almaz Musaev emphasized the importance of work on biodiversity conservation, including the development of a National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation (NBSAP), and noted the vulnerability of the country's mountain ecosystems and glaciers to climate change.

As a result of the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in deepening cooperation.
