The proposal not to divide classes by the language of instruction was voiced in Bishkek. This initiative was presented by Rakhmat Musaeva, the director of the education department, at a meeting of the permanent commission of the city council dedicated to the economy, budget, finance, and investments.

At this meeting, the issue of the shortage of teachers in educational institutions was also discussed.

According to Rakhmat Musaeva, there are over 400 open vacancies in the capital's schools, with most of them in Russian-speaking institutions.

She noted: “In new buildings, especially in Russian-speaking classes, the level of education leaves much to be desired. We only open one or two classes, and when children finish primary school and move to the fifth grade, they face a shortage of subject teachers. We have approached the Ministry of Education with a proposal for parallel instruction in two languages, depending on the possibilities. Ideally, we would like to implement the teaching of subjects in English,” Musaeva added.
