The amount allocated for treatment has not changed for the past 13 years
Deputy Gulkan Moldobekova raised the issue of the extremely low daily funding norm for medications for patients in rehabilitation centers and inpatient facilities. She noted that since 2014 this amount has remained unchanged at only 12.5 soms per day.
The head of the Department for the Development of Solutions on Issues of Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly in the Ministry of Social Development, Nazgul Cholumova, confirmed that this norm continues to be 12.5 soms for all mental health institutions and homes for the elderly. She explained that this refers to supportive therapy, not comprehensive treatment.
Additionally, Cholumova reported that a draft resolution to increase this norm is already prepared, and the amount for medications for the specified categories of patients is planned to be increased to 25 soms per day.
