According to Iskender Shayahmetov, the chief physician of the city Emergency Medical Center, the shortage of ambulance doctors in Bishkek has significantly decreased—by almost three times. This became possible due to an increase in salaries.

Shayahmetov noted that in 2025, by presidential decree, salaries for ambulance doctors in Bishkek and Osh, as well as for surgeons, pediatricians, and medical specialists working in remote areas, were indexed.

“Previously, out of 210 vacancies, 98 remained unfilled, but after the salary increase of 20,000 soms, the number of vacant positions has decreased to 32. The shortage of medical personnel has significantly reduced,” he added.

It is important to note that on December 25 of last year, at the People's Kurultai, the president announced a salary increase for educators and healthcare workers, starting from April 1.

It was also previously reported that there are plans to increase the staff of the Emergency Medical Center.
