Syrgabaev: The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway - the key to transit potential

Today, Absattar Syrgabaev, the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in the second meeting of transport ministers within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, taking place in Istanbul. During this important event, key issues regarding the expansion of transport links, the development of logistics corridors, the reduction of transport barriers, and the implementation of digital technologies were discussed.
The Minister elaborated on the implementation of one of the most significant projects for the country — the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is actively working on modernizing both its railway and road infrastructure, as well as developing logistics centers, which in turn contributes to increasing the country's transit potential.

Furthermore, Absattar Syrgabaev noted that Kyrgyzstan is open to participating in joint initiatives and projects aimed at developing the transport sector. He highlighted the growing relevance of sustainable and "green" transport issues, emphasizing support for initiatives that promote the development of environmentally friendly modes of transportation and reduce the negative impact of transport infrastructure on the environment.
