In the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan, a high-ranking law enforcement officer has been detained — the head of the Investigative Department of the Kemin District Police, born in 1992. According to the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, he is suspected of abusing his official position during the investigation of a serious crime related to the rape of a minor.
According to the GKNB, this involves a group rape in which several defendants are implicated. A forensic medical examination confirmed their involvement in the crime. However, the investigation claims that the head of the department terminated the criminal prosecution against two suspects, releasing them from liability.
The special service claims that to legitimize his decision, he forced the minor victim to give false testimony in defense of the released individuals.
The detention was carried out by GKNB officers in conjunction with the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the fight against corruption in law enforcement agencies.
According to the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek, the suspect has been placed in custody and sent to the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigative authorities continue their work both on the case of the officer himself and on the fact of the rape of the minor. The GKNB emphasizes that all individuals involved in the crime will be held criminally accountable.
